Kathy owns her own company, Globalquest, representing international custom-tour operators and hotels in the U.S and abroad. She has come to San Francisco Travel Professionals with a broad cultural background of study and international travel coupled with years of airline experience and teaching.
She received her B.A in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Washington: Russian, Spanish, Italian, and French. She later got her teaching credential and did additional study at Universidad Internacional in Saltillo, Mexico. Her first travel industry job was as a flight attendant with TIA, flying in and out of Vietnam and other Asian destinations during the Vietnam war.
Subsequent airline positions followed with Icelandic Airlines (Inside Sales), Air India (Sales,Tariffs), Thai Airways as Sales Manager of their San Francisco Office, and Mexicana Airlines (Outside Sales), She has also developed, written and taught various travel courses at The International Airline College, Los Medanos College and Western School of Travel.
In addition to teaching travel, she also teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship classes in Adult Education.
“Travel and Teaching provide me the happiness and growth that comes from the pursuit of knowledge”. I’ve already been to over 85 countries and am still curious to discover the remoter parts of the world.
